I have not seen one of these here yet but if I missed it I am sorry. I wish I could speak German I would love to read about ya'lls rides.
this is not any easy project I am taking the tow mater body and making a 55 chevy Truck out of it. It will be hot rod style trucking.
The hood you see in the pictures took 2 days to build its in 3 parts. I cut the hood off the black car to use and had to cut it in several pieces. I then added styrene as a base then put the hood over the top of it, lastly the putty.
the back fenders are coming off the Skyline in the picture. I am also going to chop the top as the top I think is to tall a chop will give it a tougher stance.
ok here are a few Work in Progress pics........

these pictures are after I chopped the top I think it has a better stance with the top lower. the fenders were sanded down these are the ones I got from the skyline. the hood now has more shape to it and the grill is installed ready for detail. |

Ok got the parts together and put a shot coat of primer on it so I can tell where I have to touch up the putty. getting the back fenders to line up with the front body lines was a pain shear pain!
the tailgate is getting there, I wanted to put the chevy logo on it but I am just to lazy to cut out all those letters and try to get them to fit. so I want to easy route and cut the Chevy emblem out and did it that way.
I lowered the body so it will sit right on the wheels I think it gives it that tough stance.
now for the updated pics!

On the rear parts you can see, how hard it ist to get parts with a smooth surface.
What kind of color do you use for the silver parts...it nearly looks like chrome. _________________ **** www.crc-oberkirch.de *****

The rear parts are vary hard to get flat and even hardest I have worked on. the black tends to show every problem area.
The chrome paint I use is called Alclad 2 its made to look like chrome. you paint the serface gloss black then you use the Alclad paint over that it makes it as close to chrome without sending the parts off to the chromer.
I put a lot of putty and time sanding the back but still could not get it perfect that is the part I am least happy about. |

What a nice Truck. Outstanding work. Flat black is very hard to get right, you have done a great job. _________________ -Michael |
