Even though I can only post in english, I was encouraged to post in this forum by my friend Pippoe who is a member here.
This modification of the Kyosho Mini-Z Caprice CHP car was inspired Pippoe’s very well conceived modification of this car. With his help I was able to build my version including some subtle differences, which I must admit turned out very nice.
The electronics consist of two Faller FCS-1 “fx” boards and one Kamikaze Light-Kit V2 (made by kamikaze from this forum).
Plus:
4x3mm LEDs
8xSMD-LEDs 0805 red
29xSMD-LEDs 0805 white
6xSMD-LEDs 1206 white
Plus much planning, wire, solder and patience to complete the modification. Here’s a comparison.

For this mod I first removed the light-bar as well as the lenses for the head and tail lights. I then filled the original holes for the tail lights and used my dremel tool to create new locations for all of the LEDs which are located in the body. The push-bar and clear light-bar cover came from a die cast model which was the perfect size for this project. I built a new light-bar base & mounting system, painted the clear cover with Tamiya clear red, blue and yellow for lights and black for tirm.I then modified the push-bar to accept the LEDs and built and painted clear lenses to cover the LEDs. Mounted and wired everything then painted all components to match existing conditions. Wow, many wires and much work but well worth it in my opinion.

Thank you for the compliments! Also thanks to pippoe for temporarily hosting my pics. I'm still having problems posting pics and movies from my web site to this forum.
I hope to resolve the issue and post more pics and the movies soon. |

Your car is simply brilliant.. and the pictures are too (this is something I still have to learn.. "how to present a mod 101".. ...).
I especially like the dimmed led for license plate illumination! Very well done!
@everybody
I uploaded a picture of how Hammer/John's car looks from inside.. professionally done (I'm envious)!
Cheers

I was finally able to host a couple of movies. The first is the CHP car rotating 360º with all of the lights on. The second I was trying to get some footage close enough to see the lighting detail yet far enough to see the car in motion. I took it on a glass table top.

Very nice job!
Both movies show the amount of work that poured into this car. Nice light show!!
Cheers
