Erste Mini-z Rally in FR

Sorry post in english:
We fixed the date for the first mini-z rally ever. As it will require precision of driving vs speed, this event will be first of its kind. Roads are made of painted concrete not more than 12in wide!!! It will be open to racers, MR01/02/015 as well as overlands as a 2nd category (no mad forces). I-Wavers, X-mods, mini-X and all 1/24 or close will be allowed in the racers category. Each pilot will be practicing 15mn of recognition runs and settings during the morning and will perform 2 sessions of 3 timed courses + returns in the afternoon. Best time will be the winner of the speed price, best session (lowest aditional times of the best session) will be the winner of the regularity price. We hope we will record good videos which I will post in this forum. All depends of the weather. If the weather does not allow it on September 3rd, it will be deferred 1 week or 2. German pilots are welcome (4-5 pilots maximum>room is limited) so this will be international! Any from you in the area that time?

So wie´s (für mich) in dem Video aussieht, gibt es keinen Platz für den Fahrer an dem man die ganze Strecke einsieht, d.h. man muss immer rundherum latschen, oder blind fahren..
(Zumindest bleiben die in dem Video immer wieder mal wo stehen..)

Wobei, das würd das Rally-Feeling verbessern, wenn man die "Gegengerade" unter Anleitung eines hinten stehenden "Co-Piloten" fahren muss...

Gartenzwerg: Ja man muß rundherum laufen aber es wird nur 1 pilot allein nach den andere (begleitet von einem Verantwortlichen/Aufnehmer). Tex, einer von us hat schon gute Zeits gemacht, mit eine sehr niedrig Mc Laren
Don Helmundo: es scheint, daß es Samstag, 10. oder 17. Sept vertagt wird.

Really nice and beautiful designed track.
Very good idea and funny to watch the video.

Are the smaller stones and obstacles glued to the track ?

Some say the track would be difficult to drive in one go.

That seems to be right but if you take the onboard camera option and every driver have to drive the car only by watching the onboard video on a TV screen against the time.
That would be a real challenge.

Your rallye track should have some steep S-curves , like this:

I think the track is already finished and you don't have more space left for this right ?

What onboard camera did you use (model and brand) ?
The video quality is very good for that.

Really enjoyed watching the video.
There is a bit too much dirt
and too many stones on the track
to race it with MR01/02, in my opinion.
But never the less, great idea and quite a challenge

Avant: Great! Es werde eine unglaubliches Tag sein
Crazydoc/Edi: Of course small stones and dirt will be removed and the track all prepared for the event. The day we made the videos it was all improvised, we went to meet the display operators and we didn't even expect to drive on the scenery, but we had our Mini-z with us, so why not use them he he.
Re: Serpentine, that would be awsome. Again the train operators are ready to modify some section so it would be more accessible to mini-z. The "mountain" see last pic on our forum is an exemple. There could be a "serpentine" to access the top of the mountain, but it won't be ready for the sept race. Modifications will surely take place on the display for next year if the 2005 rally is a success
Don't forget that this is a G-scale train club and we don't own the display, we just met them and we are still discussing all the possibilities to make train/car events and help promoting the display with something new.
re: onboard cam. There are 2 ways to make onboard movies: remote spycam and digital camera. To make the video you just saw, we attached a Canon Digital Ixus (with 256MB card) with elastic bands to a MR02 chassis. The elastic bands explain why the image is shaky sometimes. For the rally, we ask for more people to prepare carcams. A camera capable of recording at 60fps would be perfect so we could make slow motion movies!
On the other hand, remote spycam has a less good quality but are perfect for monitored driving. In fact we are working on a portable system with the new LCD googles that you can buy at Pearl. So perhaps next year the driving will be "onboard"

Sodele - wollte nochmals an die Rally erinnern. So wie's aussieht haben wir zwei oder drei Teilnehmer (Jo, Sash und ev. 08/15) aus DE - wer kommt noch?

Ich werde wohl mit dem Monster teilnehmen, da meine Rallyabteilung noch nicht komplett ausgestattet ist.

Ja Sash, richtig 10 Sept wird nicht gehen. Probieren wir mal den 17er Sept.
Jo, ein Monster wurde unten den Bruck nicht passen glaube ich. Overland sind OK.
Jedes racer mit verdoppelt reifen can auf die Strecke gut laufen. Mein setup:

Puh über die Verlegung bin ich nicht gerade unglücklich - mein Dienstwagen für Molsheim ist noch nicht fertig und die Offroadstrecke soll ja auch noch im CRC entstehen ...
